✨ The Portal That Forgot Me
It began, as these things often do, with betrayal.
I had signed in. I had checked the sacred little box — Stay Signed In — with the naïve hope of being remembered. Loved. Known. But the next time I returned to the Zoom portal — as one does, when the moon is in “Meetings All Day” —instead of greeting me like a beloved high priestess of productivity, it looked me dead in the eyes and said:
“Who are you?”
Excuse me?
I have battled login screens in three dimensions. I have remembered passwords longer than some corporate interns have lived. I have cookies turned on, VPNs turned off, and every browser extension that could cause trouble imprisoned in digital stasis.
And still… “Sign in.”
No. No, I was signed in. I checked the box. The sacred box. The little box that says “Stay Signed In,” which — I now realize — was a lie told by the developers to make us feel safe.
I clicked it every time. I sacrificed tabs for it. I whispered passwords into its digital ear.
And still it said: “Sign in.”
No memory. No loyalty. Not even the decency to blush.
I tried reason. I tried rage. I tried crying softly into the search bar. Nothing worked. It was as if I were trapped in a time loop — cursed to re-enter my credentials every morning like some kind of tragic productivity Sisyphus.
I tried every browser. I cleared everything. Whitelisted. I signed out of all devices and signed back in, again.
I had done nothing wrong. And yet the betrayal was complete.
Was it me?
Was I… forgettable?
Was I now destined to be a guest in my own portal, doomed to wander from login screen to login screen, offering my credentials like a weary traveler with no homeland?
I texted Cheryl in all caps.
She told me to scroll to the bottom.
I refused on principle.
Then I scrolled.
But I didn’t click anything because I was still mad.
I might’ve screamed into my keyboard. I definitely threatened to rebrand as a crow and never speak human words again. The portal was clearly cursed.
So I did what any rational dragon would do in a time of great peril:
I cancelled all my meetings, closed the tab and opened Pinterest.
Don’t Call Me, or Else,

🚪Why Zoom Keeps Logging You Out — Even If “Stay Signed In” Is Checked
If you’re asking yourself, “Why does Zoom log me out every time I close the tab?” or “Why won’t Zoom remember me even when I click ‘Stay Signed In’?” — you’re not alone.
Users have flooded Zoom’s forums for years with complaints about being forced to log in again and again, even when they:
✔️ Check “Stay signed in”
🔐 Use a password manager or SSO
💻 Never log out manually
This isn't just a minor inconvenience — it’s a workflow disruption. Especially if you manage multiple meetings, webinars, or Zoom accounts, the constant need to reauthenticate can feel like Zoom’s website has developed amnesia.
So what gives?
The short version: Zoom relies on functional cookies to keep you signed in, and if those cookies are disabled, blocked, or unconfirmed — the login won't stick, no matter how many times you click the box.
Luckily, there’s a fix. We’ve got you covered with the one setting most people have never heard of!

How to Stay Logged Into Zoom
First, on the right side of your Zoom account dashboard, scroll way down. Expand the Advanced Option and Click on Security.
Make sure that the following settings are turned off:
"Automatically sign users out after a specified time"
"Users need to sign in again after a period of inactivity"
Scroll down a bit further and make sure that "Allow users to sign in on multiple devices at the same time" is toggled on and quantity set to accommodate the number of devices you commonly use.
Now, continue to scroll waaaaay down to the very bottom of the Zoom website
Click on the final item on the last line you see is “Cookie Preferences”
Make sure that "Functional Cookies" and "Strictly Necessary Cookies" are turned on. Click Confirm my Choice.
(Even if these are already on, clicking the confirmation button should fix your "Stay Logged into Zoom" problem)

🤔 FAQs: Zoom Login Issues & “Stay Signed In” Problems
Q: Why does Zoom keep logging me out of the website?
A: Most of the time, it’s due to cookie settings. If functional cookies aren't accepted or confirmed, Zoom can't retain your login session, even if you checked “Stay signed in.”
Q: I already have ‘Stay Signed In’ checked. Why doesn't it work?
A: The checkbox is only effective if your browser accepts the cookies Zoom uses to remember your login. If you skipped or ignored Zoom's cookie preferences banner, your session may expire every time you close the browser.
Q: Does this affect the Zoom desktop app too?
A: Not usually. The desktop app has its own session handling. This issue is primarily reported on the Zoom website ( https://zoom.us) — particularly when accessing settings, meetings, or billing from a browser.
Q: Will using Incognito/Private Browsing fix it?
A: No — it makes it worse. Incognito mode usually blocks cookies by default, so your login won’t persist between sessions.
Q: Can I fix this with browser settings instead?
A: Partially. You can whitelist Zoom or allow third-party cookies in your browser, but the easiest fix is to use the “Cookie Preferences” link at the very bottom of Zoom’s website and manually confirm that Functional Cookies are enabled.
Stay Magical,
Cheryl
