I have over 3K subscribers to my newsletter, Wicked Title Forum: Title Underground. I have thousands of followers across multiple social media platforms. These numbers grow steadily.
My engagement metrics are practically non-existent.
At first, I thought I was totally failing and my followers must have just been a ton of stupid bots.
But then, the personal messages starting coming in. I was at a live event and had people coming up and introducing themselves as fans. I was recognized! It felt SO validating!
Then I started getting emails telling me how much my recent article spoke to someone.
I was even in a volunteer committee meeting and another member interrupted the whole meeting to tell me how much she loved last week’s message.
What was going on here?
Why were people going out of their way to tell me how much they appreciated what I was doing while my likes, comments and shares were non-existent?
